Fun garden work

Fall is here. Today my sweetie completed Round Two of leaf clean-up; and I asked him if he would perform a bit of garden maintenance, too. Nothing too difficult – just chopping down some plants (so that they can grow back next spring).

Before he made the first cut, he confirmed the plants he was going to whack. Once we were in agreement, he picked up the big orange pruning shears, and with the energy and enthusiasm of a young boy, gleefully started chopping plants down to the ground.

Granted, as adults, we don’t often get the chance to let loose and destroy stuff. This is probably one reason why demolition (of a variety of types) is just so darn fun! Watching my sweetie complete this yard task with such child-like delight made me laugh – and then smile.
