Smile in the snow

Coming home from an afternoon out, my sweetie and I drove past what I can best describe as a massive “crop-circle” style smiley-face, formed in a previously untouched section of snow along side the freeway.

(This isn’t the actual image, but is as close a representation as I could find online.)

When I saw the huge face grinning in the snow from beneath the street light, I laughed out loud – and turned to my husband and said, “That’s my smile for today”.  My next comment was, “Hmm… but I don’t think I’ll be able to find a picture like that online…”  My sweetie then offered to not only turn around and drive back to the spot, but to also run outside (in the cold and dark) to try and capture the image for me.

So the artist who created this huge-scale smile-in-the-snow not only gave me an instant moment of laughter, but also let my sweetie show how thoughtful and playful he is. Tonight I  got two smiles for the price of none.

So cute! I love those kinds of “finds.” In fact, we have a major road going through town that has a grassy median with trees planted along it – and yesterday, someone had put two enormous stuffed gorilla toys holding hands around one of the little trees! I jumped and did a double take when I saw them because they were easily each at least three feet tall and just weird to see…and then I laughed! I always wonder who does stuff like that.

    I’ve enjoyed looking around you’re site – and I’ll be back! 🙂
