I went in to work this morning feeling a little ‘meh’. I wasn’t 100% healthy: physically I felt tired, lethargic, and congested. Because my body was fatigued, my mind was also a little “spacey”: mentally I felt a little ‘out of it’. I walked into the office feeling slightly worn down in both body and spirit; I had a case of the Mondays.
However, when I got to my desk, I saw a Post-It note stuck to my monitor:
As I read the note, I heard my friend C’s voice in my inner ear, and saw her fantastic smile in my mind (some days it pays to have a very active imagination) – and immediately I smiled. C turned my day around literally within my first five minutes at work; I’m so grateful to her, and to all of my friends who do small-yet-lovely things for me.
Thanks friends (both near and far); I value you!
Stef
P.S. Of course no “Mondays” reference would be complete without this corresponding clip, too. 🙂
I heard somewhere that Mondays should be referred to as ‘pre-Tuesdays!’ The next best thing? A surprise note from a friend!

Christine, I like the idea of re-naming the “M” day of the week to “pre-Tuesday” – clever! 🙂

Just goes to prove that it’s the “little things” that matter! That one little note changed your whole day, thanks to your thoughtful friend.

Barb, “little” things absolutely DO matter. A very small kindness can go a very long way. 🙂

There’s a lot I don’t appreciate about that movie; but it does have some good moments. 🙂
