Laughter is healthfully contagious

Walking to my car after work today, I heard obnoxious, loud laughter as I approached the end of the hallway leading to the parking garage.  One man was approaching me from the opposite direction, but his mouth was closed.  Either that guy is one heckuva ventriloquist, or something else was going on…

As I got closer to the man, I saw that he had just passed a wall billboard:

The six dark, round items on the board are buttons (that stick out a good 6” from the base of the advertisement).  Each button has a single-word label; they all read as follows:

Curious, I pressed the first button (“monkey”) – and a fun “oooh oooh aaah aaah!” chuckle emitted from the board.  I grinned.  I was slightly startled (the noise was loud!), but I was more amused than anything else.  Encouraged, I pressed the next button (“Thespian”) – and a flamboyant, male voice sounded “ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaaa!!”  I smiled broadly – the voice was so goofy, I had to smile.  I made my way to the next button (“BWAHAHA”) – and the voice that greeted me sounded exactly like that.  Even though I was running late and in a hurry, I couldn’t help but press all six buttons, and listen to all of the laughs (save the “mime” button – that one [predictably] emitted no noise at all).  By the end of 20 seconds, *I* was laughing!  Which was the whole point of the ad.  Mission accomplished.  🙂

It was a delightfully creative advertisement! I left a message on the company’s Facebook page, letting them know how much I enjoyed it, and that it really did make me laugh! What a cool thing to be able to do, cause people to laugh unexpectedly in their day. Fantastic. 🙂
