What a Monday!

Tomorrow my company is having the twice-a-year big-deal national meeting.  As a result, this entire week all employees get to wear casual attire (versus the business attire that is usually required Mondays-Thursdays).  So today, instead of having to don a stiff suit or a fancy dress, I got to slip into jeans and a blouse, and be truly comfortable at work.  What a great way to begin the week.

Twenty minutes after arriving to the office, I went to the printer to pick up a document – and when I returned to my desk 30 seconds later, I saw this waiting for me:

What the…?  I opened the package, and saw this:

I then read the card that came with the gift, and learned that one of my former coworkers (now friend) saw the pillow when she was shopping this past weekend, and thought of me.  (She wrote, “I thought this might enable you to enjoy #73 even more next time!”)  She also wrote many lovely sentiments letting me know she has been holding me in her thoughts.  What a kind, considerate woman; I am *truly* lucky to have such great people in my life!

A few hours later lunch time rolled around, and I got to enjoy the noon meal in the company of two more women whom I think very highly of.  We spent our 45 minutes together getting caught up on our respective lives, talking and dreaming and laughing – and it felt so good to relax in the comfortable company of good friends.

After work I drove home in amazing weather (77 degrees [F] and sunshine – unheard of for a mid March day in this state!), took the puppies out for a nice long walk, and then got to cuddle and snuggle with them and with my sweetie.  What a fantastic end to a truly great day!

  5. Is this the same meeting where you saw Oprah & Tony Bennet last year?

Whose it gonna be this year?

Good memory Jonathan! Yes, this is the same meeting that showcased Oprah and Tony Bennett last year.

This year’s performers were less impressive: Gloria Estefan, Dierks Bentley, an 11-year-old opera singer, The Fray, and the Chip Ganassi racing team.
