A sweet ride

As the weather is starting to be consistently warmer, more and more bikes are taking to the streets (of both the “ding ding” and the “vroom vroom” varieties).

As I was driving home today, I saw a 20-something on a motorcycle – and did a double-take at his total ensemble.  He was riding a cool green-and-black bike, wearing a matching green-and-black leather jacket, and was rocking a fantastic helmet: black, with a green Mohawk on top!

Check it out:

Even though I’m not always a fan of the punk style, I think this helmet is pretty damn cool.

This guy turned a boring Monday afternoon commute into something special.  Thanks biker dude!

I really like your posts, photos and everything, and, no offense but I can’t help asking… Do you take photographs while you drive?!

Great question. To be clear, I do NOT text in the car, I only talk on the phone using a bluetooth (hands-free) headset, and I only snap photos when I’m stopped. (Usually at a stop light.) For this picture, I actually first saw the motorcyclist in my rear view mirror – and as he approached, we had a few seconds stopped side-by-side (due to some rush-hour congestion), so I got to actually observe his entire outfit uninterrupted. From there, I snapped a picture as the traffic started to ease, and he pulled out slightly ahead of me.

Does that make you feel better? 😉

Ah, but his back pack is maroon, so he gets to blend in a little bit. 😉 I’d love to say I have outstanding observation skills, but he was difficult *not* to notice! 🙂
