A spirited smile

Monday mornings can be rather rushed for me.  (And I’m guessing for many other people as well.)  Scrambling to liberate my email inbox from the glut of messages that somehow got stuffed inside it over the weekend, on Mondays I often feel like I scoop away a tiny bit of sand – only to have a wave from the ocean descend and fill the space back in.

As I was engaged in a perpetual game of give-and-take with Outlook this morning, one email arrived from a former-colleague-now-friend that caused me to pause and grin.  Here is the note she sent:

Subject: Thought of you
Message: Hi Stef!  I hope you had a nice weekend! My husband brought up a freshly bottled beer yesterday, and he giggled when he handed it to me. The bottle cap had a foam smiley face on it. I couldn’t help but think of you and snap a picture.  🙂  Happy Monday!  ~L

Attached to her note was a picture of the bottle cap; and indeed, a very cheery (albeit boozy) grin greeted me:

What a fantastic way to turn an angst-y Monday around!  Once again, I’m blessed to have terrific people surround me, who share their wonderful smiles with me.  It’s a privilege for me to then share them with all of you.  🙂

Happy Monday indeed!

Stef

  3. Oh! So that’s the smile on the beer cap. I guess I won’t be having any of that any time soon. No worries. This one started my Tuesday off with one. A smile that is. Not a beer. Not that there’s anything wrong with that 🙂
